A daughter's introduction, written by GraceAnna
Born and raised in the Carolinas, my mom attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She met my dad her junior year in college while he was on staff with Campus Crusade for Christ.
While she originally thought she would only marry a southern boy, nine months after my dad asked for a first date at the beginning of her senior year, she was married to him: a northern and very godly man named Carl. She accepted that date because she had seen and heard of his character and love for Christ.
Shortly after they were married, my parents started the Campus Crusade for Christ ministry at Duke University, where they served faithfully until 1985. After Duke, they spent five years in Texas while my dad attended Dallas Theological Seminary and Southwestern Baptist Seminary. In 1990, our family moved to Beaufort, South Carolina, where my dad still serves as senior pastor.
My mom has five children: four boys and me. We all love the Lord and we are all very grateful for the time she invested into our lives as she homeschooled us and taught us about the Lord. Mom enjoys running and now weightlifting because of one of her sons. She loves cheering for the Tar Heels, being a worker at home, teaching children at church, mentoring and discipling women, being a helper to her husband, and continually investing in the lives of her children, five grandsons, and twelve granddaughters (so far).
